The chord progression of "I got rhythm" is also referred to as "Rhythm Changes" in jazz and was the basis for numerous compositions by Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and others in the Bebop era. The songform is AABA. With this chord progression you can improvise wonderfully using the bebop scale (A-part), for the bridge (B-part) you only need the Dorian scale.
